Audiometry: Hearing and Measurement, Vestibular System and Neurootology
The time had come for the second edition of our Audiometry book. Scientific developments, innovations in diagnostic and treatment algorithms, and changes in standards have made this update necessary. Since the day we published the first edition, the Audiometry book has been considered an indispensable handbook for our audiometrist colleagues. Our audiologist colleagues and valuable members of the ENT community have also expressed that they have greatly benefited from the book.
The National Otology & Audiology Congresses, which we organize every year within the Istanbul Yeni Yüzyıl University, have been eye-opening for us in this sense. Our distinguished professors from the fields of ENT, Neurology, Otology, and Audiometry who participated in the congress highlighted the current developments and demonstrated how coordinated the two branches are progressing. In this context, our book also gives extensive coverage to Otology and Neurootology, which are important sub-branches of ENT.
Hearing preservation, diagnosis, and treatment are not only a health problem but also a social, psychological, and sociological reality. In our book, the main topics such as Hearing and Measurement, Pediatric Audiometry, Hearing Aids, Vestibular System, Balance Tests, and Neurootology are meticulously covered. New pictures, figures, and tables have been added to facilitate better understanding of the topics; a Question Bank and a glossary of technical terms have also been included for readers to test themselves.
